Notes
A casual, bustly and full of atmosphere American restaurant and bar.

After 5 + City Pig’s analysis

Big Easy is an American restaurant where you can feast on ribs, lobster and steaks. Portions are large and generous. This is a real lively place to go take your date on a Friday or Saturday night with a live band downstairs.

It gets very busy very early as I found myself waiting a good 40 minutes at the bar for a table. The frozen margarita is like a grown up slushy and all the ladies cannot resist them. The bar men seem very talented and can make drinks fast despite the queues.

Service tends to be friendly although not as fast when it is super busy but I can see couples and friends having a great time.

The ribs are the best dish in my opinion and are very tender. However, the lobster and fajitas are not bad options and less messy to eat.

I could not resist but to pinch some ribs each time! The chips were not as tasty and the potato flesh was not smooth – I recalled it was better last time.

Check out the different deals that are on the black board each day and bring your friends - the ones that can eat!

Notes
A small, busy and tightly packed restaurant in Soho, serving thin steak on a budget.

After 5 + City Pig’s analysis

If you are wondering whether to come here or not, you must be not fussy and enjoy the minimal choice there is. Don’t invite your veggie friends unless you want them to starve. No need to even know anything about steak, since there is only one type on the menu except that on the specials, we got wagyu!

The steak was tender, thinly sliced on the iron board and is easy to chew. The steak lacked the meaty flavours but was still enjoyable for the price paid. It comes with a very small portion of salad. It was enough food at the time but after a few hours I was peckish! The chips were crispy and cooked very well.

Other interesting quirks, was that popcorn is served as a nibble for free in a cup. Sauces have to be paid at £1 and a good range of soft drinks like ginger beer and rose lemonade are available. There are no desserts on the menu but there is a basement bar.
Flat iron attracts a lot of attention as it is purse friendly and provides some simple grub. Come early as there are no reservations and be prepared to sit close to fellow diners.

Ice tea recipes using Tea Pigs

I love drinking different types of tea whether it is the good old classic breakfast tea or herbal teas. However many people think tea as being a beverage that needs to be drunk hot and with milk. Tea is so diverse that we can use it to make refreshing cold drinks similar to cocktails but more like a mocktail. It can be so much healthier than buying heaps of coke and fizzy drinks.
The sun is shining this bank holiday weekend - a perfect time to be out experimenting refreshing drinks.  Jot these down so that you can impress guests with ice tea drinks!
